  • Yes, indeed. There are some really great services out there. We understand from our neighbor who just married. She met her husband through eharmony.com.

Especially in the more mature years, women still outnumber men substantially, so in order to have a good chance to meet someone compatible, the technically advanced woman has a much better chance of finding someone to love that way than simply staying home and hoping that somehow she will meet the correct person over the produce at the super market.

On-campus traditional colleges used to be the place to meet great people but more and more, the boys seem to want to party, and aren’t ready to settle down. Everybody ends up in debt and the next classes are ready to start the process all over again.

We have two relatives, one went to a traditional college and got deeply into debt, and is now unemployed. The other went to an online college and has no debt, and more importantly has a great job. Evidently the online college doesn’t give everyone the partying idea, so graduates seem to be more competent in their fields upon graduation.

Also, many on-campus schools have so reduced their standards that bachelors degrees are now a dime a dozen with the masters degree their new bachelors.

Again, the masters degree taken online seems to be more valuable.

Also, something new. Wall Street is now preferring Masters of Fine Arts degrees rather than Masters of Business Administration.

Evidently their thought is that MFA’s observe customers better and are more creative in terms of meeting customer needs. Makes sense, but I never really thought about it much.

We always thought the MBA was king, but not any more on Wall Street.

Well, strayed a little from the original topic. Hopefully 2010 will be a great year for relationships everywhere.
